The LogistEC project aims to develop new or improved technologies of the biomass logistics chains. Specifically, work package 5 of this project must demonstrate the improvement of process operation for all the steps from harvesting to transport of energy crops supply. Nobili Spa, an Italian company operating in the field of agricultural machinery, is a partner involved in the development of a shredder suited for energy crop harvesting (WS 320 BIO). CoproB is a agricultural cooperative also operating in the field of biomass logistics and energy production from energy crops. One of the energy crops used as feedstock for supply the power plant of Finale Emilia is biomass sorghum. A demonstration trial will held next September 23rd in order to show the performances and the versatility of the machine for biomass sorghum harvesting. During the visit, the three phases of the harvest system, mowing, raking and baling, will be showed.
Dissemination of LogistEC generated knowledge concerning the demos train case carried out in sorghum harvesting with the WS 320 BIO in real operation condition.
