The objective is to test and evaluate the prototype of energy crop harvesters (analysed in Agricultural machinery section of this project) under real operational conditions. The most promising engineering developments of agricultural machinery will be demonstrated on a farm scale; approximately 10 hectares of crop will be harvested to show that the prototype machines can be put into full operation. It is the most probable that development of grass energy crop harvesting will come from a company Nobili in Italy and the woody energy crop harvesting from CRL the UK with, therefore, the specific harvesting machinery demonstrations will take place in the source country.
- A successful demonstration of a new energy grass harvester with increased capacity operating at the farm scale
- A successful demonstration of the CRL modified SRC harvester working at the farm scale with minimal stool damage
